1. Azalea Coffee Bar, Columbia

The owner of this coffee shop decided several years ago that she wanted to start a business that focused on the things that she truly loved. In 2021, her dream came true. Set amid Devine Street’s shops, businesses and restaurants, this coffee bar serves both on-trend sips (like the lavender-flavored First Lady) and classic lattes with equal aplomb.

Try one of her creative coffee drinks, such as the Queen Bee, a combination of espresso, honey, cinnamon, milk, and cinnamon sugar, or the Orange You Glaad, which is a mix of espresso, chocolate sauce, orange syrup and milk. The shop sources its coffee and tea from female producers.

2. Bean Bar, Florence

There are reasons why Bean Bar’s lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos taste so good: Not only are all the ingredients organic, but the syrups—vanilla, lavender-honey and caramel—are made in-house.

All drinks come in one size and are prepared with the ideal ratio of espresso, milk, simple syrup or chocolate to ensure consistent quality. This coffee bar is committed to being environmentally conscious and sustainable in its practices, with every to-go cup being 100% compostable.

3. Little River Roasting Co. Coffee Bar, Spartanburg

What started out as a small-batch coffee roaster has expanded to include a popular coffee bar that bakes its own muffins, biscuits and other treats. Savor a café au lait, a Chemex or Kalita Wave pour-over coffee, a blended espresso, or one of its other coffee drinks.

Need another reason to visit? There’s a bookshop next door. Little River Roasting Co. also sells its roasted beans online, and it also has a drive-thru in Spartanburg for those times you need to pick up a coffee while on the go.
