1. Cup Runneth Over Coffeehouse, Sweetwater

Cup Runneth Over’s “kindness is contagious” motto is a perfect fit for Sweetwater’s “sweetest street in Tennessee,” and every latte, macchiato and raspberry truffle mocha is served up with a dose of Southern hospitality.

The coffeehouse serves its coffee hot, cold, and blended and frozen. Try a cold-foam latte with vanilla or strawberry or a hot chocolate freeze. For those who prefer other types of milk, the coffeehouse offers almond, coconut, soy and oat milks. Get a pastry to go along with your coffee drink. As part of its family-friendly vibe, this coffee shop serves drinks for kids and has board games you can play while enjoying your drink.

2. Mama’s Java CafeNolensville

This woman-owned coffee shop in Nolensville has an empowering message on its exterior—a mural that reads “This Girl Can” designed by artist Kim Radford—and is always whipping up something new and interesting, with a rotation of new and specialty drinks that switches up every day or so.

It’s also got a full menu of breakfast items, sandwiches and salads for those looking for more than just a caffeine infusion. The coffee shop air-roasts its coffee beans for a smoother, less-bitter taste. The shop’s coffee beans are also available for sale online.

3. Walnut Hill Coffee Co., Winchester

The latest phase of Winchester’s downtown square revitalization has included the addition of a roomy, light-filled coffee shop that was an instant hit among those looking for somewhere to settle in with a laptop or good book.

You’ll find everything from drip coffee, cold brew and flavored lattes to tea drinks such as matcha, dirty chai and Tim’s Ford Fog—the shop’s own version of London Fog. In addition, Walnut Hill sells made-from-scratch bagels, layer cakes and other food items, both savory and sweet.
