AAA Members Get up to 20% Off the Base Rate of Hertz Car Rentals

With your AAA Membership, you get a discount of up to 20% off the base rate of a Hertz car rental, including electric vehicles (EVs). Taxes, fees and options are excluded, and the discount percentage varies based on location, length of rental, date, vehicle class and other factors, but one thing is for sure; the Hertz savings you can put money back into your travel budget.

An Upgraded Rental Car Experience

It’s not just the base rate of Hertz rental cars that AAA Members save on, but fuel as well. Additionally, AAA Members receive waived fees for young renters, 1 free additional driver and loss of use charges:

  • Save on fuel: Stretch your travel budget even further and save 10% on prepaid fuel when you add the Fuel Purchase Option to your reservation. Aside from the cost savings, this benefit saves you time. Forget about the need to refuel the vehicle before you return it, just return the car and Hertz will take care of the rest. (Note: refunds are not permitted for unused fuel.)
  • Waived fees for young drivers: Renting a vehicle can often be expensive for younger drivers. With Hertz vehicles rented through AAA, the Young Renter fee is waived (for qualified AAA Members ages 20-24). It's a savings of $29 per day!
  • Waived fees for an additional driver: AAA Members can add a second qualified driver to their Hertz rental car and skip the Additional Driver fee. This saves you up to $13.50 per day and gives you flexibility to take turns behind the wheel – a benefit that’s especially helpful on longer road trips.
  • Waived fees on loss of use charge: A Loss of Use fee is normally paid to protect drivers from potential charges if their rental car is stolen or damaged during their rental period. With your AAA Membership, this fee is waived for rentals within the U.S., giving you added peace of mind and extra cash in your wallet.
  • Save on loss damage: For rentals within the U.S., Loss Damage is limited to $5,000 in the event of a car accident for AAA Members (provided there is no violation of terms and conditions of the rental agreement).

PRO TIP: Renting your vehicle from a Hertz neighborhood (off-airport) location can be cheaper because these locations do not have airport concession fees. At a Hertz neighborhood location, you can take advantage of complimentary customer pick-up and drop-off (within 15 minutes of the location) if you call ahead and pre-arrange it. This service is offered at the discretion of each neighborhood location based on staffing and availability.

For a nominal fee, you can also pre-arrange Convenient Vehicle Delivery, where Hertz will bring your rental car to you and pick it up when you’re done if you schedule it in advance with the neighborhood location. These services may vary based on your location and availability.

The Gold Terms are the terms and conditions that govern enrollment in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® loyalty program. Valid for AAA Members with new Hertz Gold Plus Rewards enrollment.
