History meets adventure, relaxation, and excitement in the Edgerton Area. Home to Albion, Edgerton, Fulton, Lake Koshkonong, and Newville, this Wisconsin area boasts an array of attractions that make for a unique vacation spot.

Offering opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, and water sports, Lake Koshkonong is the ideal place to escape the everyday. “The Kosh” is home to plenty of fish, including panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, as well as wildlife like the American White Pelicans and Sandhill Cranes. Spend the day boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming before enjoying a cold drink, delicious food, live music, and beautiful scenery at one of the dozens of establishments along the waterway.

Other recreational activities can be found at the wide range of parks throughout the area. The Edgerton Hospital Healing Garden is known for its public art displays and 25-acre trail that is perfect for hiking, jogging, and cross-country skiing. Dickinson Park features a climbing playground with slides, swing sets, and a basketball court, making it a perfect destination for traveling families.

Those looking to work on their golf swing or play 18 holes can enjoy one of the Edgerton area’s state-of-the-art golf courses. Coachman’s Golf Resort offers a challenging 27-hole regulation course filled with water hazards and roughs. Edgerton Towne Country Club is a premier 18-hole gold course and a favorite of PGA legend and Edgerton native Steve Stricker.

The Edgerton area hosts several festivals throughout the year, including Tobacco Heritage Days. These events are held annually each July in downtown Edgerton, and the three-day festival celebrates the areas rich history of tobacco farming. With a market, live music, car show, arts and craft fair, pie eating contest, parade, and plenty of food, this celebration is perfect for families. Chilimania, a festival held right after Labor Day, features the Wisconsin State Championship Chili Appreciation Society International Sanctioned Chili Cook-Off. The event also features live music, a Bloody Mary competition, and more!

For those looking to dip their toe into the local culture, the Sterling North Museum pays tribute to the author of classics like “Rascal,” “So Dear to My Heart,” and “The Wolfling.” The museum is a renovation of the authors childhood home. The Edgerton Performing Arts Center hosts musicians, traveling theater groups, and other performers from around the world, making it a hub for art and culture.

Home to dozens of attractions, festivals, and adventures, the Edgerton area is the perfect destination for your next getaway.
