The Force is Strong Here
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is an unequaled immersive experience for lifelong fans and newbies alike.
Ever since Star Wars first hit the big screen in 1977, the dream of visiting a galaxy far, far away has captivated millions. This summer, it’s finally becoming a reality at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida, with the recent opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The 14-acre themed land transports you to the edge of the galaxy to a settlement called Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.
Be a part of the story
At Black Spire Outpost, you find yourself immersed in the battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Everyone you encounter, from Stormtroopers to shop cashiers, has a story to tell and a role to play. Cast members give you missions to help thwart the First Order and, with the Play Disney Parks app, you can interact with elements of the land—like droids and door panels—and help the Resistance or First Order as they vie for control of Black Spire Outpost.
Punch it in the Millennium Falcon
Ever dreamed of sitting in the captain’s chair of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy? On Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, you and five of your closest rebel friends take a seat in the iconic cockpit. But don’t expect to sit back and watch. Each rider is assigned a role—pilot, gunner or flight engineer—with tasks to perform that directly affect the ride experience.
And scheduled to open on Dec. 5, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance puts you on a secret mission that takes you from a Resistance base to the inside of a Star Destroyer.
Hit the cantina
Grab a drink alongside smugglers, traders and rebels at Oga’s Cantina,* inspired by the watering hole where Luke and Obi-Wan first met Han and Chewie. Droid DJ R-3X provides the music as you plot your next move over a Jedi Mind Trick cocktail, Bad Motivator IPA or Toniray wine.
Hungry for more?
Head to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo for galactic spins on Earth dishes, like Smoked Kaadu Ribs (you’d call it pork) or Fried Endorian Tip-Yip (tastes like chicken).
DIY like a Jedi
It usually takes a Jedi years of training to construct a lightsaber, but on Batuu you can build one a bit more quickly. At Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers,* you select your colored kyber crystal and design a hilt based on one of four themes like “Peace and Justice” or “Power and Control.”
Choose your companion
At the Creature Stall, adopt a new friend to take home—whether you prefer a cuddly porg or a rambunctious rathtar. Or, head to the Droid Depot, where you can design and build a droid in the style of BB-8 or R2-D2.
