Celebrating Mickey's 95th Birthday

The iconic cartoon character has been Disney’s mascot for nearly a century. Here are a few ideas to help you celebrate.

Anyone can instantly identify Mickey Mouse by the shape of his ears, but do you know how old he is? The world’s most famous mouse made his first public appearance on Nov. 18, 1928, in the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie. Over the next 95 years, his appeal would only grow, and as it did, the world met his famous cohorts: Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck and others.

So, for Mickey’s 95th birthday, why not celebrate with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort? Here are some tips for getting the most out of your adventure.

Do your homework.

There’s no shortage of information available on Disney theme parks. Luckily AAA has helped streamline your vacation research with these quick-watch videos. The more time you spend before the trip identifying what you want to see and do, the less time you spend at the park trying to figure it all out.

Plan for the whole family.

Once you know which family members want to do what, you can begin piecing together your plan. If you’re visiting Disney with multiple generations, plan according to who might want to go pedal-to-the-metal on roller coasters all day and who might want to take it easy with shows and slower rides.

Keep your meals in mind.

Streamline breakfast, lunch and dinner with the My Disney Experience app. Families have found it useful around mealtimes because you can access menus from your phone, order ahead of time and receive notifications when your food is ready. This is just one more way to simplify the logistics and save time and energy.
